How to join NLCC Admiral Stirling

Are you between 9 and 12 years old? Do you like making friends? Care to go sailing, boating, and swimming? Would you like to go sailing or rock climbing, and learn cool stuff about ships and submarines? Interested in camps, outings, and trips? ?YES? THEN NAVY LEAGUE CADETS IS FOR YOU!

With NLCC Admiral Stirling, you’ll get a chance to do all the above and many more activities! Check out our activities gallery for fun stuff we’ve done in the past and what’s coming up this year. Youth aged 9-11 years old can join NLCC Admiral Stirling cadets anytime during our training year (September to June). Click here for more information on registration. We parade (meet) every Friday evening between 1800 hrs (6:00PM) and 2030 hrs (8:30PM). 

Cost

There is an Activity Fee to cover insurance and outings: $275 for the first Cadet in the family and $175 for each following Cadet in the family. Installments are welcome.

NLCC Admiral Stirling is generously sponsored by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 288. You don’t have to be a Veteran to join the Legion. Membership to the West Kelowna Branch is very affordable.

2022/23 Registration

FOR REGISTRATION Please contact us at nlccstirling @ gmail.com or message us on Facebook for a registration package. The following will need to be submitted for each child registering:

  • Cadet Application for Membership
  • Cadet Medical Questionnaire
  • BC Services/Care Card showing BC Healthcare Number
  • Birth certificate or passport to confirm proof of status in Canada and age
  • Enrollment Fee
  • We also ask that you notify us of any special custody arrangements that may be in place.

Please note: Due do National COVID19 safety protocols all cadets must have paperwork submitted PRIOR to attending in person.

Please note some changes to the Navy League of Canada Regulations effective September 2015:

  • The Navy League Cadet Program is for youth from the age of 9 years old to 12 years old.
  • To register for the current training year cadets who are 12 years old on 01 September 2015 can join a Sea, Army or Air Cadet program but not the Navy League Cadet Program. Cadets who turn 12 after 01 September can be Navy League Cadets.
  • Navy League regulations do not allow for a Navy League Cadet to be a member of the Sea, Army or Air Cadets while they are a Navy League Cadet. They can belong to one or the other organization but not both.

 

Fundraising & Volunteering Commitments

Fundraising is absolutely essential to offer our cadets an exciting and effective program. Parents/guardians are expected to participate in fundraising efforts to assist in providing the funds to support an enriched and diversified program for the cadets.
